Greatest American Dog

Is anyone else watching “Greatest American Dog”?

I missed the first episode, but caught this week’s. I felt such a sense of relief when Elan was eliminated. Judge Victoria Stillwell correctly pointed out that she was stressing out Kenji, and she stressed me out too. Just watching her behave that way with her dog was frustrating. I feel bad for Kenji that she has to put up with all that and also because it’s not her fault that they were eliminated. In her goodbye, Elan said that there’s nothing wrong with her dog and she’s right. Elan’s just a bad trainer.

I’m also suspect about judge Wendy Diamond’s credentials. I thought she looked familiar, and am embarrassed to say that I remembered her from a crummy realty tv show called “Single in the City.” The producers seriously couldn’t find someone more qualified? Even the host, Jarod Miller, is way more qualified than Wendy!

Now that Elan is gone, I’m sure I’ll keep watching the show. Most of the other teams are very likable especially Travis & Presley, Ron & Tillman, Bill & Star, and Laurie & Andrew. Also, I have to recognize kooky Beth Joy for having the only shelter dog on the show.

Does anyone have any favorites to win?

  1. I watched the 1st episode, but episode 2 is waiting for me on the DVR…Elan/Kenji were pretty chill on the 1st episode, so I’m curious to see them in #2 based on your description.

On the other hand, Beth Joy (of Beth Joy & Bella Starlet) and Brandy (of Brandy & Beacon) were driving me crazy in the 1st episode – I’m a little disappointed to see that they’re both still around.

My favorite part of the 1st episode is when Ron (of Ron & Tillman) tells Brandy that he won’t be able to make her wedding because he’ll either be drinking bleach or jumping in front a truck that day (or something to that effect).

    I’m rooting for Ron/Tillman, Bill/Star, David/Elvis & Laura/Preston.

  2. I liked the show’s concept (not necessarily it’s execution)– but mostly the dogs so much I created a song especially for all the great American dogs out there. Check it out at http://www.musicforanimals.org It’s a free download, it’s fun and it’s for all the dogs that mean so much to all of us dog lovers. Dogs Rule!
