Weekend Seminar

What an exhilarating weekend! Some colleagues and I attended a weekend long seminar hosted by Dogs of Course for previous ITC graduates. The seminar was taught by Pia Silvani, an amazing woman, trainer & teacher, and focused on specific behavior cases. Not only did we delve into real cases she’s dealt with (both past and present), but we were also lucky enough to see an actual live consultation then brainstorm about what was really going on. ITC events are always educational and Pia is always engaging, so the entire weekend was great fun.

I must admit, I was thinking about Charleston the whole time. He was not eating at all when I left on Friday so it was tough to leave him. I had worked myself up into a frenzy by the time I found out he finally ate 1/2 a can of food on Saturday afternoon. I felt a little better when Vinny texted me this photo of Charleston playing with our friend, Damien.

He looks so happy! The theory we’re working on now is that he just doesn’t like taking his pain meds because he’s only eating food without pain killers hidden inside. That’s fine, he doesn’t seem to be in pain anyway. I have been able to sneak in a few antibiotics, though. I’ll take success where I can get it.
