The First Ever Masters Agility Championship at Westminster

This year the Westminster Kennel Club will host its first ever agility trial in conjunction with their 138th Annual All Breed Dog Show. Entry to the trial was open to all dogs competing at the Excellent and Masters levels in AKC. I have to assume that thousands of dogs entered to try to snag one of the 225 spots and the spots were given out by random draw.

I am excited to announce that Hank and I were selected as one of the competing teams! On Saturday, February 8, 2014 we will be honored to be amongst some of the top competitors at this venerable event.

Judging at Pier 94 starts at noon. There will be 2 rounds to decide who will go on to the televised Championship round at 7pm. The top 3 dogs in each height class will continue on, as will the top dogs representing other breeds. I am not putting any pressure on us to make it to the Championship round since I know that we will be going up against World Team members. We are simply thrilled to participate.

However, if we should make it to the final round I will post the information on my Facebook page.

If you would like to attend, tickets are $20 and can be purchased online here. I’m sure they will be available at the door as well.
