Sarah has been a great trainer for our dog and for us. She is kind, positive and creative with our dog. She also is very patient with us. She really pays attention to dynamics and gives very clear and simple techniques to help us achieve the behaviors we wanted. She helps us understand our pup better, as well. And, she is always available by e-mail or phone to answer questions and remind us of what she explained during our lesson. We particularly like how engaged she is for the whole lesson, either with our dog or with us. And, as important as any of these other points, we are seeing the results we needed, and both dog and family are happy and well. Thanks, Sarah!

Sarah was a great trainer, and provided the right amount of structure into the class while still allowing the puppies to play and be crazy puppies with one another. I loved the opportunity for the puppies to socialize with one another, and develop comfort with one another over the four weeks. I was very impressed with how each week was organized around a specific apparatus and that each week built upon the previous. We have done lots of agility in the past but I always felt left behind in some things and we were never able to catch up. Lucky and I had a great experience at the intro to agility class at Doggie Academy. Sarah was precise in teaching how to position Lucky so that he entered the obstacles well. She also clearly taught how and when to reward. Lucky had such a great time , we were sad when the classes ended.

I was skeptical about the positive reinforcement aspect of the training. I am a huge fan now, Sarah really knows what she is doing and she is always available to answer questions and emails. I had a some concerns in the beginning about nipping, but she reassured me how typical it was for a puppy and methods to help stop, which worked.

"Sarah was such a great instructor. When I brought home our Vizsla, he was so full of energy and had no idea how to behave properly! He was so sweet, but would become unruly and would act like the Tasmanian devil when he "acted out"! Sarah helped me and my boyfriend see that we needed to enforce certain rules so that we would be happy, but also so that Hemi would be happy. She was so right! She seriously helped transform our puppy from a wild man into a well behaved and very obedient dog. She always used positive reinforcement techniques that worked AMAZING well! And she was always patient with our puppy and especially with us! She made the entire experience of training and raising a puppy a lot less stressful and extremely enjoyable. "Sumo is my 2 year old Giant Schnauzer. If there was garbage around, she would always run straight for it and NEVER come back. She would chase people and eat anything in sight. We were starting to change our lives to avoid these problems, avoiding places where there could be garbage around, keeping her on the leash if there were people around etc. Recently a group of Sunset Park dog owners arranged a time for Sarah to come help us with our doggie problems. Since then Sumo is a changed dog! Her recall is getting better by the day, even though she still tries to chase people she will stop cold if she hears " Sumo, Here". My husband and I have also changed, we are consistent with our training and really implement Sarah's positive techniques. There is no yelling, no NO's, it is all positive reinforcement and it works! We whole heartidly recomend Sarah, she herself is great company and her classes are fun and very productive."

"Thank you again for all your wonderful guidance and help with training Henry. As you observed during our first training session, Henry's been a headstrong and impulsive chaser of any moving 'object' that approaches- joggers, skateboarders, bicyclists, dogs, and children. He was out of control on the leash and would yank me every which way. I didn't think I'd be able to curb his 'playful lunging'. Well, within 3 weeks of your first visit, his improvement has been incredible. With your help and our practice sessions, Henry is a different dog on the leash. He's not chasing after people anymore, and lo and behold, he's not chasing after squirrels and birds, which is amazing, since that's in his 'hunting' nature. I know I have to keep vigilant about continuing his progress, but I can't thank you enough. You have a tremendous gift and it's been such a pleasure working with you!"
